I Love Me Some Perlane!

*This webpage is graphic intensive & may take a while to load*

August 11, 2003 - I had 1 1/2 syringes of Perlane hyaluronic acid injected into my lips by Dr. James Romano today! *WOO HOO!* Each syringe comes pre-filled with .7 cc of product, so in all I got about 1 cc of product. I was going to do the whole 1.4cc but my lips were bruising up pretty bad and getting super huge so we didn't want to risk it. Dr. Romano

I will continue to update my progress and take pics of the end result. I am presently using Physician's Complex Bruise Cream and using cold and warm compresses to help with the bruising and swelling. The first pics were taken before, during, directly after and within 2 hours after injection. I will post a comparison before and after photo once my swelling has dissipated.

I am showing full face photos to show the true size as compared to my face. I think that it is important to see the facial dimensions and the size and shape of the lips to truly gauge a result.

I absolutely ADORE Dr. James Romano and highly recommend him to anyone! He and his staff go above and beyond to make me feel at home and to help me reach my aesthetic goals without feeling as though I am just another number. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Romano and his staff!!!

I recently used Retin-A Micro, sorry for the peeling and flaking skin

Also my bruising is magically going away! This bruise cream rocks! I just went and bought Bromelain and Arnica tablets as well just in case. It is getting better and better :) I just hope it doesn't go down too much more :)

11 PM 1 day post

I took a bunch of photos today because this is how I want them to look permanently. Marc says they are too big still but only a tad. I, however, want them this way! I will take this pic (and the others) to whomever when I get whatever permanent injections I finally decide on. I can't wait! I feel like my face is finally balanced with them this size. What do you think? Unfortunately I know I still have swelling and it will continue to face. Hopefully they will still be somewhat this full for the shoot on Friday.

8:00 - PM 2 Days Post - It's going down too fast! :(

Note Bruising and Lumpiness. The lumpiness goes a way in a few days. You can see the lumpiness now because the swelling is dissipating. Sorry for the "glistening" -- it was HOT under those lights.

Conclusion: They went down a lot in my opinion at 1 week post-injection. I want the look I had at 5:00 PM 3 days post with the pink lipstick, maybe even a *tad* bigger.

Update! December 3, 2003 I have a scar tissue lump it looks like...

lump when lip stretched
lump, relaxed (not visible unless inflamed)

Next time it gets inflamed I will take a pic. The above pics were taken after I had already come home from a spicy dinner and it had gone down. I have a wine stain in the dry part of my top lip - sorry about that.
